FIAT proudly launched the new Grande Panda Hybrid, marking a significant milestone in its global product strategy and supporting the electrified transition to a broader audience thanks to its new iconic, affordable, and cool B-segment vehicle designed for urban mobility. Following the recent launch of the fully electric version, the spotlight now turns to the hybrid variant, which marks the return of FIAT in the core of the B segment, now with an affordable and smart vehicle for urban mobillty. This new model doesn't just signal a product debut: it marks the brand's role as a leader in volume and accessibility, echoing the golden years of FIAT when simplicity, innovation, and emotional design moved millions. With its hybrid debut, the Grande Panda delivers a compelling combination of iconic Italian design, forward-thinking engineering, and sustainable mobility-all now more accessible than ever.
A New Global Icon, Designed in Mirafiori
The Grande Panda project is not just a car; it is the foundation of a new global vehicle family developed entirely under the guidance of the FIAT HQ and Centro Stile in Mirafiori, Turin. From its first drafts to its launch, the Grande Panda embodies the spirit of the Italian brand and is committed to delivering smart, inclusive solutions to the world. With compact dimensions and unmistakable personality, it reflects the values of functionality, sustainability, and emotional design.
The model sits on Stellantis' Smart Car Platform, a highly flexible, multi-energy architecture that supports both hybrid and electric powertrains. Its global adaptability ensures that the Grande Panda can meet a diverse range of market needs across regions. Measuring 3.99 meters in length, 1.76 meters in width, and 1.58 meters in height, the Grande Panda surprises with its compact size while comfortably seating five passengers, offering intelligent interior space and functionality in every detail.
The Grande Panda Hybrid
The centrepiece of this launch is the FIAT Grande Panda Hybrid, which introduces a new era of smart, electrified mobility. At the heart of this model lies the innovative T-Gen3 hybrid powertrain, featuring a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder turbocharged engine delivering 110 HP, combined with a 48V Li-ion battery and a sophisticated eDCT 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This system seamlessly integrates a 21kW electric motor, an inverter, and a central control unit, together enabling smooth, efficient, and quiet driving.
The hybrid system provides numerous everyday advantages. Through functions like e-launch, e-creeping, and e-parking, the FIAT Grande Panda Hybrid can operate in full-electric mode during low-speed manoeuvres, allowing for up to 1 km of electric-only driving at speeds under 30 km/h. These features result in smoother acceleration, silent city driving, and less fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, made possible in part by the Miller Cycle combustion strategy. The eDCT transmission further enhances efficiency and provides a relaxed, two-pedal driving experience that embodies FIAT's "easy drive" philosophy.
Design: A Blend of Iconic Inspiration and Modern Boldness
The exterior design is a contemporary reinterpretation of the 1980s Panda icon. With its wedge-like profile, robust stance, and surprising details, the Grande Panda stands out as both iconic and innovative. Distinctive PXL LED headlamps evoke retro video games, while the cube-like taillights and blacked-out pillars emphasize a strong visual identity. Details such as 3D-branded, low-relief "PANDA" lettering on the doors and the "FIAT" ones on the rear, a lenticular C-pillar graphic, and the glossy black bezel reinforce its authentic character. Moreover, with all exterior colours available for the launch BEV version and a choice of trims-POP, ICON, and LA PRIMA-customers can personalize their Grande Panda to suit a variety of preferences and needs.
Designed for Efficiency, Built for Comfort
Inside, the Grande Panda continues to surprise. Its compact exterior conceals an unexpectedly roomy interior, boasting best-in-class shoulder width, modular storage, and expressive design. The cabin's Blu Tasmania color scheme is energized by bright yellow accents on the dashboard, infotainment area, and seat stitching, creating a vibrant, joyful environment. Indeed, with a generous 412-liter trunk capacity, the Hybrid version of the Grande Panda, offers ample room for everyday shopping and family needs. Its functionality is further enhanced by smart storage solutions throughout the cabin, such as the cleverly designed 13-liter dashboard, 3 liters of which are housed in a single compartment.
In addition, sustainability and design meet innovation in materials, with the standout BAMBOX Bamboo Fiber Tex® dashboard, an exclusive fabric containing 33% real bamboo fibers. This unique finish is not only a nod to natural design but a clear example of FIAT's commitment to circular materials. In fact, 140 recycled beverage cartons are used in the making of every Grande Panda, repurposing the non-recyclable layers into Lapolen Ecotek-a striking blue plastic with a shimmering aluminium finish, used throughout the interior.
POP, ICON, and LA PRIMA Trims: A Full Range of Technology and Comfort
Each of the three trims-POP, ICON, and LA PRIMA-offers specific features that blend value, technology, and comfort.
The POP trim introduces the essentials with no compromise: ADAS features, manual A/C, a 10-inch digital cluster, automatic eDCT transmission, Electric Parking Brake (EPB), and a smartphone station featuring NFC-based Autolaunch. Users can seamlessly interact with their digital environment thanks to a dedicated Home Button that simplifies access to their favourite screen or app.
The ICON trim adds a higher level of comfort and personalization. It brings a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen with 6 speakers, full LED headlamps and rear lamps, and three customizable upgrade packs-Tech, Style, and Winter. The Tech Pack includes automatic climate control, navigation, front parking sensors, a rearview camera, and wireless charging. The Style Pack introduces 16-inch alloy wheels, roof bars, privacy glasses, and skid plates, while the Winter Pack (available only with the Tech Pack) includes heated seats, steering wheel, and windshield.
At the top of the range, the LA PRIMA trim combines all packages, along with 17-inch alloy wheels, premium interior finishes, and exclusive use of BAMBOX Bamboo Fiber Tex® for the dashboard. It is the most complete, elegant, and tech-forward version in the lineup.
Advanced Driver Assistance and Connectivity Services
Safety and connectivity are central to the FIAT Grande Panda Hybrid experience. All trims come equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including Cruise Control, Speed Limiter, Active Safety Brake, Lane Keeping Assist, Driver Attention Warning, and open-door alerts. The LA PRIMA trim enhances this with front sensors and a rearview camera.
Connectivity is supported through the onboard 10" digital cluster, 10.25" central touchscreen, and wireless smartphone mirroring. Customers benefit from multiple USB-C ports, a wireless charging pad, and seamless digital integration. FIAT offers two service packages: Connect ONE, including Emergency Call, Roadside Assistance, and Vehicle Health Reports; and Connect PLUS, which adds Vehicle Finder, and other services to improve maintenance, like vehicle information and vehicle health alert, available through the FIAT mobile app. Additional services will be available in the future to increase the connected services portfolio.
Authentic Accessories: Celebrating Personality and Versatility
More than 100 Authentic Accessories are available to enhance the Grande Panda experience, allowing customers to personalize their vehicle with eco-sustainable lateral side letters, coloured door panels, and even a practical roof bars for added cargo flexibility.
Designed to reflect the car's dual soul-retro and modern, playful and functional-these accessories underline the Grande Panda's versatility and FIAT's attention to customer lifestyle.
